Prunus mume (Japanese Flowering Apricot a.k.a. Japanese Flowering Plum) Prunus mume originated in China and Korea but is most often referred to as Japanese Apricot in the west. The fruits are harvested to make pickled delicacies or fermented into fragrant liqueurs. The pale rose colored blossoms have a lovely fragrance and appear in late February or March.
