A large, fast growing, pine-like tree native to eastern New South Wales and Queensland, Australia.
It has thin, needlelike and nearly leafless green branches. It can be grown in most warm temperate and tropical climates in USDA Zones 9 to 11.
It is extremely wind and salt resistant, can be grown with full coastal exposure and provides a very valuable windbreak. The heavy and extremely hard wood makes excellent firewood.
