Germination: Soak seeds for 24 hours in lukewarm water. Cover seeds only slightly with coir or sowing mix + sand or perlite. Then keep bright and constantly moist but not wet at 25-28°C. Germination takes 1-3 months.
A neat shrub or small tree to 5 m tall with leathery leaves and wonderfully fragrant white flowers followed by dark glossy yellow, woody, plum-sized fruits.
Native to grass and woodlands in southern Mozambique and eastern South Africa.
In cultivation it is suitable for tropical and warm temperate climates in USDA Zones 9 and above.
