Dombeya Rotundifolia - South African Wild Pear Known as the Dikbas or South African Wild Pear, although not any relation to the pear tree, this is one of the first species to flower in the spring. Its sweetly-scented flowers are absolutely abundant, when in bloom.
This small tree specimen is drought- and frost-tolerant. Due to its high level of nectar production, it is highly attractive to bees and butterflies. Its dried blossoms are fabulous in dried arrangements. This is a showy, ornamental deciduous tree! It is, reportedly, a wonderful bonsai specimen as well.
