Delicious. No garden is complete without Spinach. Bloomsdale Long Standing is a wonderful heirloom variety with good old-fashioned taste. 60 days - 'New Zealand Spinach' can be grown as a perennial in warmer climates but is typically grown as an annual. It is not related to true spinach but the leaves taste similar to, and some think better than, spinach. It does not bolt in hot weather nor does it typically turn bitter and it is valued because of its high vitamin C content. This green keeps on growing and seems to be unaffected by the bugs and problems that affect other greens. New Zealand Spinach will grow wild among the rocks right along the ocean, so it can handle saline soils. This is a very robust plant. It tolerates drought, bugs, salt and poor soil. And it does much better in heat than true spinach which just bolts in Southern California's heat. New Zealand spinach can be grown in the summer when other greens may not grow so well. Seeds can be sown directly into garden when soil is warm, grown in containers (pots) or started in containers and transplanted after growing to 2-4". Zones 3-10 All seeds are packaged and for the current growing season. PLEASE SEE MY OTHER SEED LISTINGS
